Gosc w dom, Bóg w dom
This famous proverb displayed in many Polish homes translates to mean that “to receive a guest is to receive God” and reflects the importance our culture places on hospitality.
The PolishYoungstown Team hopes that what you and your friends and family experienced on August 25, 26 & 27 reflected the heartfelt effort, pride and enthusiasm that we and our amazing volunteers and supportive sponsors intended.
Expanding our offerings to Saturday night nearly doubled our overall attendance; and it included many, many people who never attended a PolishYoungstown event before. Gotta love evangelization! The HUGE tent gave us a very festive atmosphere and an expanded child’s area and marketplace gave families even more things to enjoy.
We know there were some glitches along the way and we sincerely apologize for your frustration and inconvenience. Przepraszamy! We will address those issues for next year and our 5th Annual Polish Day Celebration will be bigger and better then ever!
We love bringing this event to the influx of Polish Pride to the Valley and want to make it one you will mark on your calendar to attend every year. We have already met and are working on plans for 2013 so now is the time to share your thoughts.
Should we stick to one day or party or 1.5?
Tell us what YOU think and check out all the pictures here.
Special thanks to our sponsors for making it possible
